How to Spend 3 Days in the Mystic Island of Siquijor

Here's your 3 days quick getaway guide to exploring the mystic island of Siquijor!

Kareen Satorre Kareen is an inbound marketer and self-proclaimed backpacker. She loves coffee and is a huge fan of young adult books. On her free time, she wanders, blogs and collects interesting things, not necessarily in that order.

Siquijor Island is known for caves, waterfalls, coral reefs, white sand beach, and potion. Yes, Siquijor has been associated with magic, witchcraft and sorcery, making it a good destination for some spooky adventure. The Spaniards fondly called Siquijor as "Isla del Fuego" or the Island of Fire because it gave off an eerie glow - thanks to the fireflies that festooned the many molave trees in the island at night.

Things to do

1. Watch the sunset

Nothing is more spectacular than watching the sunrise and sunset. One famous location to watch the pastel sky is Brgy. San Juan, where most of the beach resorts are located.

2. Explore the underwater

Tulapos Marine Sanctuary is a must-visit in Siquijor. It’s the oldest and biggest sanctuary in the island. Its abundant of different species of fish, corals, and other underwater marine life.

3. Tarzan jump at Cambughay Falls

Complete your adventure by doing a Tarzan jump in the magnificent Cambughay Falls. If you're too scared to do it, well, you can just opt to take a refreshing dip in its cool waters.

Accommodation

One of the downsides of the trip is that we chose an accommodation away from the hi-way. Hence, it hindered us to explore more. We could have stayed at Island Rendevoo. This quaint cottage is located in Brgy. San Juan and walking distance from the white sand beach.

Anyhow, there’s always a next time.
