Surprised? Probably not!
According to Agoda’s Travel & Tech Study, 79% of Singaporean travellers find food and dining an important travel experience and 46% of them would choose to stay in four- or five-star hotels.
Coming up next on the list of important travel experiences would be nature and scenery (72%) followed by shopping (66%).
And where exactly do Singaporeans head to for these indulgences?
Top destinations include Bangkok, as well as nearby hot spots like Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur and Batam. East Asia is a popular choice too, with Taipei, Hong Kong and Tokyo among the top ten in the list.
While it might feel that in general Singaporeans are oh-so-predictable, other surveys have also revealed that while food and natural scenery are major draws, there is a growing community of Singaporeans who are seeking for more local experiences in off-the-beaten-path destinations.
